We are excited to announce the hiring of Mike Cumiskey as the new principal of our middle school campus, beginning September 1, 2022. Mike has been a vice principal at our secondary campus since 2017 and has taught science and leadership courses at ACS since he began here in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from Lethbridge University and a Masters in School Leadership from Dordt University. Currently, Mike is also the Director of the Society of Christian Schools in BC’s “The Residency,” a leading professional development opportunity for Christian school teachers in British Columbia.

Mike and his wife Amy have four children: Caleb (10), Judah (8), Ezra (6), and Levi (4), all of whom attend ACS. Amy is a member of the secondary staff as a Learning Support Services coordinator. Mike and his family reside in Abbotsford and attend Northview’s East campus.

Mike is known for his visionary ideas and ability to see the “opportunities” among many competing interests. Yet, he is also able to roll up his sleeves and do the hard work needed to see projects through to the end. Mike has a desire to see the middle school flourish in the many years ahead and is excited for his new role to begin.

We look forward to his leadership in this capacity! Please join us in welcoming Mike to his new role as middle school principal.
