We celebrated my daughter\u2019s birthday in style this week\u2013with a flight in a helicopter!<\/p>\n

Thanks to the wonderful people who organized and ran the \u201cGirls Fly Too\u201d event at the Langley airport on March 8 and 9, as part of Women in Aviation Worldwide Week. As a Science and Math teacher, as well as a Mom to three girls, I can\u2019t think of a better way to get young ladies excited about aviation and engineering.<\/p>\n

We had a fantastic afternoon full of amazing learning opportunities\u2013we got the chance to sit inside a fighter jet, explore a search and rescue plane, and go for a 12-minute flight north from Langley, over the Fraser River and the Golden Ears Bridge, and back. What a ride!<\/p>\n
