{"id":149,"date":"2014-02-12T04:04:59","date_gmt":"2014-02-12T04:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/insideout.insidewp.test\/?p=149"},"modified":"2014-02-12T04:04:59","modified_gmt":"2014-02-12T04:04:59","slug":"pit-crew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abbotsfordchristian.com\/insideout\/2014\/02\/12\/pit-crew\/","title":{"rendered":"Pit Crew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI can\u2019t imagine what it\u2019s like getting 3 girls out the door on time every morning!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sympathetic bus driver had just pulled off the road (ok, after I frantically blinked my lights and swerved a few times) and kindly shouted this out the window.<\/p>\n<p>We were late, again.<\/p>\n<p>What was it this time? \u201cOh, mom, I forgot my skates.\u201d \u201cOh, mom, I hate oatmeal in the morning.\u201d \u201cOh mom, I can\u2019t find my ____________\u201d.\u00a0 \u201cOh, mom, I\u2019m family of the week.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOh, mom, can you sign this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It never fails.\u00a0 <strong>No matter how many times we attempt to get to the bus stop on time, we<em> just<\/em> make it.<\/strong> Barely. And, we say to ourselves there\u2019s got to be a better way.<\/p>\n<p>We know of these days. These are the ones we make it with time to spare. There\u2019s nothing frantic. The pace is slower. There\u2019s no yelling. We stop. We pray (sometimes with our eyes open). I get a sloppy kiss and a hug. I get to send them off on a good note.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/insideout2.insidewp.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/DSC03244.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-208 alignleft lazyload\" alt=\"Inside Out: Abbotsford Christian School Blog, Karen van Egmond\" data-src=\"http:\/\/insideout2.insidewp.test\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/DSC03244-350x262.jpg\" width=\"245\" height=\"183\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 245px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 245\/183;\" \/><\/a>But, I don\u2019t manage any of this on my own.<\/p>\n<p>In our house, we have a \u201cmorning pit crew.\u201d This fella makes breakfast, loads the dishwasher, assembles lunches, puts out the garbage, signs agendas and scrounges for pizza money &#8211; all this before 7:30am.\u00a0 Dad is our morning hero!
